Have 90% made up my mind that my visa run for next trip will be to Jakarta, probably for about a week. Have never been. Problem is the bloody Air Asia flight doesn't arrive there until 2345 hours, when I fear that the Hotel Reservations Desk at the Airport may be closed. Therefore, can anyone tell me the operating hours of that desk? Is it 24/7?

Have learned from GOOGLE searches that there is a 24/7 tourist desk at Terminal 2, but none of the sites address the Hotel Desk.

Have done extensive GOOGLE searches on Jakarta Hotels but have not come up with much that is reasonable. I want a Hotel that is convenient for P4P? Since I don't know one area of Jakarta from another, I am gunshy about making my own reservation. Is the Atlantic Hotel convenient for P4P? Other suggestions?

(I can already hear some of you fellows saying "...use the SEARCH function!" Trouble is, I NEVER have any success with it!"

If you want a budget hotel then you can just take a taxi direct to Jalan Jaksa and walk the street for a hotel. The whole street has budget hotels 1 after another there and around. They are all girlfriendly. You can always ask for "diskon" (discount).

By the way, Jalan Jaksa isn't far from the train station downtown, which has an airport bus. The airport bus may or may not be running at that hour but you can find out when you get off the plane. From the train station it is a very short meter taxi (or their version of tuk tuk) ride to jalan jaksa. Always look for bluebird taxis if you can help it, as they are known not to screw around like others can.

I'm not sure if any hotel is exactly the best located for finding girls. The action is well spread out. Taxis aren't expensive. I really like Jakarta. By the way, there are lots of musical beggars and kids at intersections. If you wan to give to them keep local coins handy for that.
