Ok. I know I'm a cc (rightly) IMHO. However, i am bending these days and am in the process of furnishing an apartment so tilak can let a room and make a few squid. However. Whenever i go and look at furniture to fill said apartment, the prices seem to be the same/more expensive than in yuk. This I resent! Maybe I'm going to the wrong places ex: Index on the Suk Rd, and the new Big C on Klang. But shit! It's hard to find anything that competes with Argos, B&Q (as was), or a good old fashioned charity shop. I mean, this gear is only for a lodger so I'm buggered if I'm buying quality for something that may/may not be trashed in short time. So, the question is: Where for the economy range? Thank you in advance :clueless

Well Index would be out.... there are a couple of places I have used on roads that connect to Sukhumvit.
One on Klang, on your left as you head Sukhumvit. There is one about soi 6, just b4 foodland, another bigger one right on the corner of the slip road onto Suk. Anoither place on the small rd to suk off Yume, turn right after the cooked food market (36/1), again left side just ahead of Suk. Second hand places are everywhere, but don't be surprised if the prices are close to new, send the TGF in after you have looked. Another option is to go to the auctions....Link

There used to be a shop up from the Carrefour now Big C on the same side on Pattaya Klang. I bought some things in their once upon a time and it was really cheap but so was the furniture. I do not even know if he is still there, maybe someone with recent knowledge can say.

The press wood furniture with the plastic covering is truly crap. The fact is that it is very difficult to find anything else. My computer desk was falling apart and the plastic coating was coming off. I looked far and wide for a new desk and ended up buying an ugly steel desk. It too is cheaply made but at least it won't de-laminate.

There are very solid wooden desks available, I think it was in-front of Homeworks South Pattaya I saw them. They are hard wood and weigh about 3 tons. Actually the craftsmanship lets the wood down on close inspection... they also cost a fair bit. They must be possible to get from the Northern areas, Chiangmai, as the name suggests.

I found some good modern style furniture in Homeworks at the end of South Pattaya Rd next to Big C, I thought i would be expensive but was surprised at what i found. Alternatively, there are lots of cheaper furniture shops on Sukhomvit itself

Hi

If you`ve not already sourced the furniture, might be worth taking a look at the warehouse type shops at the back of Big C( north/2nd Road)

Some items seem reasonably priced, others not.

Yeh, that appealed but whenever I look on the website the gear seems to be poop. Guess they have good batches and bad batches. I'll give it a go tho. Cheers!
