I have been there twice and each time i went, i simply turned up at the airport, looked at the three different prices (very similar) from the diffrent airpines and picked one. They all have good flight times and plenty of options for time to depart/return. I seem to remember that Thai had about 15 flights a day. Overall a great place to visit, you will enjoy it there for sure

By the time November comes around hillbilly probably won't have that choice, as most likely Air Asia and Nok already operate from Don muang and Thai will still be at Swampy. See other thread about Air Asia moving to Don Muang, might depend which airport is nearer from your departure point as to which suits you.

I prefer Air Asia, but watch for add-ons like baggage and seat selection as you progress through their booking system, they might end up more expensive than the others. i.e they are currently charging around 250 baht for a 20 kilo suitcase each way. They do have online check-in up to seven days in advance, also if you are a smartphone user you use the machines at the airport to check-in and print your boarding pass, (they charge if you don't and they are available) then just proceed to fast bag drop, you can also print your luggage tag.

Not much real difference between them all really, just personal preference and route specifics make me prefer Air Asia.

Hi

Flew up here a few days ago on Orient Thai from Swampy, coming from Patts.

Flying back in a couple of weeks on Nok Air to Don Muang, as preferred the flight times and plan to go on to Hua Hin, and only slightly more expensive this time.

I usually find Orient Air cheaper, but all have promotions now and then.

Given the choice I would fly Nok Air, as have newer aircraft ... I think.

Stopped flying Air Asia a year or two back when they started all the addons .... before that they normally came up cheaper.

I flew up there last September on Bangkok Air. They are an excellent airline. I think they were a bit more expensive than Air Asia but they were not expensive. I flew up there with a TG and had a nice 2 day visit. I plan on returning for a longer stay sometime.

The earlier you book normally the cheaper the flight.
